Travelling can be tricky for the vaper. Ideally, you want to take your battery and e-liquid/pods with you onboard the plane and keep it in the destination country and even using your vape there.

1. CHECKING if  VAPING IS LEGAL IN YOUR DESTINATION

Each country has its laws when it comes to electronic cigarettes. Some of them have imposed fines and threats of jail time; it is important that you check local laws at your destination.

Countries like Finland, Norway, Denmark, and Japan have sales bans on all products containing nicotine. But they allow you to bring your vape along for personal use, but you cant find a vape store to buy from.

Meanwhile, countries like Thailand, Singapore, and India have a complete ban on vaping. For example, in Thailand, you can be arrested and sentenced to as much as 10 years in jail for vaping.

2. FIND THE AIRLINE RULES 

There are safety concerns regarding carrying of devices and batteries. 

The general rule, you must take your battery in your carry on luggage. Lithium batteries are usually not allowed in check-in baggage.

Most airlines have rules regarding carrying e-Juice, vape devices, and accessories on their websites. 

In general, the rule in carrying vape devices is carry them in your carry-on luggage. If it is small enough, you can take it on your person, and you can put it on the conveyor belt of the x-ray inspection at the security checkpoint. 

3. STORE E-LIQUIDS WITH YOUR OTHER LIQUID ITEMS

It is preferred to have them with your other liquid items, in most airports in order to make security checks easier.

Keep your e-liquids adequately sealed and put in a resealable bag.

E-liquid bottles larger than 100 mL should be in your checked-in luggage.

4. BATTERIES MUST BE STORED PROPERLY

Vape devises these days tend to use lithium batteries, which are potentially dangerous if mishandled or not properly stored. 

You don’t want them loose, which would make them move around and bump into each other in your luggage.

Keep the spare batteries away from other metal objects and make sure not to let their contacts touch each other in your luggage. It is better to storing them in the plastic case or covering the connections with electrical tape, and storing them in a padded container is also a suitable storage method.

5. HIGH ALTITUDE CAN CAUSE E-LIQUID TO LEAK

The increase in altitude will add pressure while flying actually allows air to enter your tank or pod, which usually could cause aleak.

 It’s best to take your pods out of the battery before flying or empty your tank it is also recommended placing these in ziplock baggies to prevent them from getting into your luggage.
